Calvin Swan
Calvin Swan, founder, and president of Rise Above Academy, grew up in Chicago as a ward of the state following the tragic death of his grandparents. His parents were never together, and his siblings were separated and placed in different foster homes.
With hard work and persistence, Calvin was able to turn his life around. Now he is devoted to helping youngsters avoid the dangers and heartaches that he faced.

improving the lives of young people by providing affordable, academic and recreational training essential life skills to help participants become valued members of society.

disadvantaged youth by providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities
needed to overcome their circumstances and achieve their full potential. Through
personalized mentorship, access to essential resources, and engagement in sports
and leadership activities, we aim to foster a nurturing environment where young
people can develop resilience, self-esteem, and leadership abilities that will serve
them throughout their lives.
Our mission is to create a lasting impact on the lives of youth by offering a
comprehensive support system that addresses their academic, personal, and social
needs, helping them to rise above the challenges they face and become productive,
